Stripe Connect (recommended)

Stripe Connect is the simplest way to take payments. You connect a Stripe account through Pay2Book and it handles the rest - there are no keys to copy and no webhook to set up. If you already have a Stripe account you can sign in to it during onboarding and use it; if you do not, you can create one as part of the same flow.

  1. In your Pay2Book console, go to Settings → Stripe.

  2. Under Stripe Connect, select Connect with Stripe.

  3. Complete Stripe’s secure onboarding (see what Stripe will ask you below). This happens on Stripe’s own pages, not in Pay2Book.

  4. When you finish, Stripe returns you to Pay2Book. Once Stripe has enabled charges on your account, the card shows Connected and you can take payments.

When a booker pays, they are taken to a Stripe checkout page that belongs to you, not to Pay2Book. Your business name, and your logo and colours if you set them, appear on the checkout page, the email receipt, and the booker’s card statement. Pay2Book is not shown to your bookers at the payment step - they are paying your business directly.

Because it is your checkout, it uses the branding on your Stripe account. Set it up so it looks polished:

  1. Go to your Stripe branding settings at dashboard.stripe.com/settings/branding.
  2. Add your logo (or icon), a brand colour, and check your business name.

The exact questions depend on your country and whether you sign up as an individual or a business, so the screens vary from person to person. In all cases Stripe needs enough to verify who you are and to pay money out to you. Expect to provide:

  • Who you are. Your name and contact details, and whether you are an individual or a registered business. Businesses also give their legal name and registration details.
  • What you do. A short description of your business or the services you sell.
  • Identity verification. Stripe may ask you to confirm your identity, sometimes with a photo of an ID document. This is Stripe’s requirement, not Pay2Book’s.
  • A bank account for payouts. Where Stripe sends the money from your bookings. This is the account your earnings are paid into.

Pay2Book never sees or stores any of this information. You enter it directly with Stripe, and Stripe shares back only whether your account is ready to take payments.

A 2% platform fee applies per booking on the Starter plan. On the Pro plan there is no platform fee. Stripe’s own processing fees apply on either plan.

Connect uses your own Stripe account but lets Pay2Book manage the connection for you. If you would rather wire Stripe up directly with your own API keys and webhook - for full control of the account - see Stripe Manual instead.
